I specialize in helping professionals, other adults, and teens struggling with issues that adversely impact their lives and careers. This includes challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship issues. I have worked with at-risk teens and young adults, helping them to cope with the thoughts and emotions resulting from abuse, neglect, addiction, and food and housing insecurity. In addition to counseling, I have practiced law for over 26 years and been a mediator for 21.
My experience as an attorney and mediator has allowed me to observe first-hand the pressures and stresses of professional life and how professionals cope, how they often fail to cope adaptively, and how and why they needlessly suffer personal setbacks and professional burnout.
I am EMDR-trained and use CBT, EMDR and other approaches to help my clients to identify and cope more adaptively with their stressors, overcome obstacles and improve their lives. I use my professional experience to inform my practice and use it to help my clients, regardless of their stage of life, career, or personal or professional relationships.
