Do you know what changes you want to make, but not how to get there? Whether you seek brief help or more comprehensive guidance, I am here to help you reach your goals. I have assisted adolescents and adults living with a range of behavioral health concerns, including: depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance use disorders, trauma and PTSD, adjustment disorders, neurodiversity, conduct and personality disorders, OCD, dissociative disorders, neurocognitive disorders, schizophrenic disorders, and co-occurring disorders. I strongly believe in respecting individual characteristics while honoring cultural, gender, and other identities.
Treatment should be tailored to you, and having a toolbox of approaches is critical. Motivational interviewing and mindfulness guide my interactions with clients. Cognitive behavioral therapy, along with elements of dialectical behavior strength-based, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and other therapies, typically form the framework my approach.
I look forward to working beside you during this stage of your life journey. I am confident that you will be able to overcome challenges and achieve the goals that you identify. Your goals and needs will guide a flexible agenda for our sessions. Self-determination will allow you to leave counseling with lasting skills and tools as you move forward in life.

I am licensed (inactive) as an attorney in Texas and Colorado, where I practiced for about 12 years. While I happily no longer practice law, and cannot offer legal advice, my background is sometimes helpful in working with clients facing family or justice issues.

Typically, we'll start with a session or two focused on exploring your background, concerns, and goals. Then, we'll meet for a session or two to introduce concepts and approaches for therapy and collaborate on a plan. I most often suggest Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with elements of Dialectical Behavioral, Strength-based, Solution-focused, Psychodynamic, and other therapies, as the framework for change. CBT focuses on modifying behavior, including involuntary behavior such as insomnia or excessive worrying, by challenging the dysfunctional thinking that leads to maladaptive behaviors.
