I am client centered, caring and feel a commitment towards the my client's well being and their personal goals in counseling. I have a diverse training background that includes behavioral health, addiction, sandtray, and relationship/marriage training.
While I have a eclectic background, I tend to use a cognitive-behavioral approach, stress management, including relaxation/guided imagery, and supportive therapy. My clients tell me they feel cared about. I am down to earth and calm. I aim for results and enjoy working with clients who are depressed, have relationship issues/adustment/loss, anxiety/OCD,and chronic pain/medical issues.
I respect my client's goals, lifestyles, and pace.
Cognitive-behavioral, stress management interventions are proven by research to be most effective, so I tend to use these approaches, although I have a "toolbox" of eclectic interventions at my disposal. I provide a safe place to heal and be heard.
I have an extensive background in behavioral health, with a three year hospital internship and five years working with a team of health professionals. I am holistic, belive in the mind/body connection, and stay educated on the latest treatments. I specialize in guided imagery for stress and pain.
