Donovan (he/him) has a passion for providing counseling services for Biracial, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), as well as continuing to work with people struggling with addiction. Donovan encourages self-discovery, self-compassion, and equanimity to allow the therapeutic space to support the client on their path to wellness. Donovan believes in the client being the expert on their own lives, and for holding space that someone might not have in their life. The preservation of the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of his approach to clinical work.
He aims to provide empathetic and compassionate care for clients, especially for individuals new to therapy. Donovan believes in the inherent benefit in letting someone be seen and heard in a nonjudgmental space. Donovan works with adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Donovan has a background in a variety of human services fields, working with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as well as the Department of Human Services. This has helped create a multi-disciplinary lens to counseling, and a core goal of client advocacy and beneficence. He also brings experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
