I can provide you with individual or group treatment to help you through your struggle to achieve normalcy despite the abnormal events, including abandonment, neglect, physical / sexual/ emotional abuse that you have survived in the past.
Education is the first step to healing. In brief, I will help you understand brain changes that result from trauma and support you as you explore how anxiety, irritability, anger, jumpiness, low self-esteem, and emotional numbing -which may not remind you of the trauma at all- can be triggered unconsciously.
When emotional difficulties interfere with mood, functioning, or relationships, therapy is helpful. When these difficulties create economic, medical, legal or social problems, therapy may be vital to resolving your issues. In addition to providing healing psychotherapy, I am NYS qualified to provide assessment and treatment of DWI / DUI offenses.
