I utilize evidenced based techniques based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness to help people identify what they want so that they can take the steps to get there.
I work collaboratively with adults, teens, and elementary age kids who are going through life transitions, feelings of anxiety or depression, identity or developmental issues, and dual diagnoisis (when substance use coexists with a mood disorder). Everyone is unique, but there are common threads of acceptance and change and connectedness.
I am affirming and respectful of people from many different traditions, faiths, and sexual orientation. I am a Christian who believes that God is accepting and affirming, but that we are encouraged to grow. I don't think you have to choose between God and who God has made you.
