I have thirty-five years of professional experience with in-patient and outpatient settings. I served as clinical director for a behavioral health program in a state-wide agency for 19 years, was adjunct faculty/family therapy supervisor at the University of Arizona in the psychology department for 11 years, and a family therapy seminar lecturer in the department of psychiatry for seven years. I have presented at local, state,and national conferences as well as consulted and trained for multiple private and state agencies. I specialize in child and family therapy as well as adult and marital/couples issues.
I utilize Ericksonian approaches to psychotherapy/hypnosis and strategic therapy. This approach individualizes treatment to address the unique characteristics and needs of each client, couple, and/or family. I enjoy working with issues related to anxiety, personal adjustment, depression, and trauma.
When appropriate and when there is interest I have a special focus on wellness, healthy lifestyle, and the integration of eastern spirituality with western psychotherapy. This includes the application of varied meditation practices to assist with the reduction of stress and discomfort and the increase of satisfaction in daily living.
