Effective psychotherapy enables clients to take control of their own feelings and behavior by gently uncovering the connections between past experiences and current difficulties. Positive change occurs in an atmosphere of responsibility and hope, and a respectful, dedicated therapist can effectively guide this process. I integrate straightforward communication and empathy in the context of steady, clear boundaries. Our interactions will be active and enthusiastic. Psychological services include psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, and family court related interventions.
Common issues for my clients are: relationships and breakups, grief, parenting, codependency, abuse/trauma, and identity formation. I have taught graduate classes in psychopathology and assessment, and have many years of family court expertise. Understanding the impact of power, privilege, prejudice and culture is an essential part of my work with people.
