I specialize in treating those who have experienced trauma and/or abuse, and also have experience helping clients with primary concerns related to grief, adoption, dating, relationships, anxiety, and stress. I consider my therapeutic style to be collaborative and authentic - I work with my clients to create a nurturing space where they can work through complicated feelings, challenge unhelpful ideas, and feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives. I like to model using humor as a coping strategy while still validating the weight and significance of what my clients have been through.
My approach is eclectic, drawing on components from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and humanistic approaches, with my techniques being shaped to your needs. I also have advanced training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Regardless of modality used, I always approach my clients from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens.
