I have over 30 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of adults, and couples. I trained in Chicago and New York, and moved to South Florida since 1992. In private practice since 1991, and held the position of Director of Adult Outpatient Psychology Services at Jackson Memorial Hospital for 13 years, as well as Adjunct Faculty status at University of Miami School of Medicine. In addition to psychodynamic background and by virtue of my teaching and supervisory experience and many years in private practice, I am also well versed in other theoretical approaches and treatments. I'm a Fla. Certified Telehealth Practitioner.
My experience in the treatment of anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, relationship/marital issues, life cycle transitions, trauma/PTSD, spirituality, grief and losses, anger issues, and cancer-related issues. The main goals of treatment are for the individual to develop insight, internal strengths, and more effective ways of functioning.
I provide a thorough initial evaluation involving complete history to so that an appropriate treatment plan is conceptualized and presented to the individual during the initial interview. I conduct therapy also in Spanish and Italian. Appointments during the morning and afternoon, Monday thru Friday.
