I love working with clients who are interested in developing a therapeutic relationship to improve their mental health symptoms. Clients who are insightful and reflective, but are also really wanting to feel better. There is so much that can be done to improve symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I provide relationship based, trauma informed therapy based in social justice. Connecting with my clients is the heart of my work and seems to be a piece that clients carry with them. The experience of being deeply understood is uniquely healing. Most of us are more capable of making change after we have been truly seen and heard.
As a trauma informed therapist, I take into account that often mental health symptoms and even what we consider personality traits can be a response to trauma. Trauma changes how a person regulates their thoughts, feelings and ability to care for themselves emotionally. The impact of trauma, social justice and climate issues is quite prevalent.
