I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, life transition challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues including intimate partner violence, and immigration matter.
The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self.

Chances are therapy will help you learn tools to understand more deeply what you are trying to communicate about your emotional lives. We are all in relationships emotionally, whether at work, or school, or in your personal life. The communication in these relationships may break down. Here, you will learn tools for identifying the reasons why, and learn what can be done to improve the situation. Improvement will include deeper understanding and clearer communication with others.

Everyone has the capacity to reach full potential. When this occurs, one experiences an improved sense of self which creates freedom to make decisions that create and sustain meaningful experience in relationships and work. Life can actually feel like it's starting anew. More often than not, answers to repetitive patterns in unfulfilling relationships and negative feelings about the self can be traced to the past. Once goals have been identified, I work with clients in a supportive and collaborative way so that a constructive and meaningful understanding of one's life, with improved ways of coping, can occur now.

Currently accepting NEW clients. I often work with people who feel disoriented and disconnected from themselves and others. These feelings can be profoundly lonely and confusing, leaving one grasping for a sense of direction. I work directively and collaboratively to help them regain a greater sense of orientation within their own lives and discover the meanings behind their struggles. It is my privilege to be able to support and witness others' journeys and their healing process.

Imagine our therapeutic journey like a car ride. You're in the driver's seat, taking control, choosing the direction, speed, and path you want to take. Whether you're exploring new terrains, making decisions at crossroads, or deciding to cruise slowly to take in the scenery or accelerate to reach a destination quicker — the choice is yours. I sit beside you in the passenger seat. My role isn't to take over but to be your trusted co-pilot. I'm here to provide guidance, offer insights, suggest alternative routes, and sometimes just be a listening ear as you navigate your journey.

Not accepting new clients
From years of working with people who have witnessed, been subjected to or engaged in experiences such as war, sexual abuse, and child abuse, I know change occurs and happiness is available.
NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in trauma, transitions and transformations through Self Leadership. I assist clients in finding self-compassion, connection, and inner freedom. I am motivated to help people discover new and forgotten possibilities within themselves. I help clients trust themselves, learn from themselves, and live in harmony with their values and goals. This is accomplished in a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel supported and enabled to do their important work, as I believe all people are whole, capable and resourceful.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
