I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been in the mental health field for over 24 years. Before starting in private practice 2005, I worked in community mental health centers, schools, group homes, and inpatient units in medical and psychiatric hospitals. In my private practice, I provide psychotherapy for adults, children, and families with a wide range of problems, including anxiety disorders, sexual abuse, depression and mood disorders, relationship issues, attentional difficulties, and childhood behavior problems. Understanding my clients' view of their world is of utmost importance. I take your feelings very seriously. My specialty areas are tension reduction, stress management, alleviating depression, unresolved grief, ADHD, relationship issues, and health/fitness/weight. I work with individuals ages 15 through 99, as well as with couples. I use a variety of methods depending on the client and problem. For instance, I rely on expressive therapy for unresolved grief, whereas I use mainly behavior therapy for tension reduction. Above all, I check frequently with my clents to be sure the methods I am employing are meeting their needs.
