My goal for the counseling relationship is that you, the client, and I, the counselor, will develop trust with one another, work as a team to define and explore present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work toward those goals. While my counseling philosophies are informed by a biblical worldview, I will in no way pressure or require you to uphold my morals, values, or religious beliefs. As the client I respect your value/belief system and will ask that you inform how that is incorporated into counseling.

With over 20 years of experience as a licensed counselor, I will help you to move toward solutions that will bring about positive change. While my clinical training and biblical worldview inform my approach, your goals and needs are the priority of each session.

My love for helping others overcome life challenges stems from my early days in college when I was a member of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. This organization introduced me to community based service projects that were life changing. It was in these early days that I had the rewarding opportunity to change lives and help others see bright possibilities for their future. I'm a trauma trained Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping people live happier and healthier lives. As a mother of three young and very active children and counselor of 14 years, I appreciate the demands and stressors life can bring, as well as the toll it can take on mental health. My journey as a counselor has brought me a range of experience working with trauma victims in a clinical setting as well as working with children, teens, and families in the school setting.
