Thanks for visiting! I specialize in adults (20's, 30's & 40's) dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship & career challenges, OCD, panic attacks, and trauma. My approach is to first understand your perspective and, as needed, supplement your instincts with clinical theory and intervention. I draw from modalities such as CBT, humanism, IFS, attachment theory & mindfulness. I'm also trained in Positive Psychology—aka. the scientific study of happiness. As such, I aim to help clients both (1) overcome challenges and (2) optimize passion/ well-being in their lives.
Finding a therapist is not fun. Most people see dozens of options on directories like Psychology Today, but have no idea how to narrow their search. If you're experiencing this (or something similar), please call or email to schedule a consultation. I used to say "15-minute consultation," but these tend to last closer to 30 minutes!
Matt Sosnowsky, MSW, MAPP is the founder of District Psychotherapy (serving the DC Metro area, remotely). He has masters degrees in clinical Social Work and Applied Positive Psychology, each from the University of Pennsylvania; and a bachelors degree in Finance from Penn State University.
