Heritage Counseling has been offering mental health care for over 20 years. We have seven therapists (LPC, LCSW and LMFT) who specialize in a number of areas. We offer a wide range of appointments including Saturdays and evenings to accommodate today's busy families. Our therapists have worked with the local schools, courts, military and industry to help clients reach their desired outcomes. Our goal is to provide you with quality, well trained and confidential mental health care. All of our therapists hold advanced degrees, are state licensed and maintain their expertise via ongoing continuing education and peer consultation.

During my Social Work career, I have had the privilege to meet and work with many individuals from different walks of life; all searching for the same thing, Peace of Mind. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has more than 15 years of experience. I enjoy working with people individually and collectively. I am confident that together you and I can move forward to progression. I am here to help you conqueror those giants that may seem to big to tackle alone. I specialize with working with children, adolescents, and adults that are dealing with anxiety, depression, moods, gender issues to name a few. Educated and trained at Rutgers, Harvard, Savannah State, and the University of Pennsylvania, Michael Mack started his career over 25 years ago at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, where he focused in Structural Family Therapy (SFT) developed by Salvador Minuchin, a pioneer in child and adolescent therapy. In addition, he has been trained by the Beck Institute and Linehan Institute/Behavioral Tech in evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

In addition to managing a full clinical load, I manage and maintain a private practice treating adult and pediatric patients with a focus on TBI, stroke, rehabilitation, dementia, substance abuse, etc. In addition, we staff multiple hospitals. I also have extensive (10 years +) experience in IMEs and disability review. Board Certified in Brain Injury by the American Academy for Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (AACBIS). I am one of the national trainers. Biofeedback certified and a trainer for AACBIS. Facilitated the creation of a student training program whereby MA, MD, PA, PhD.

My diverse work experiences have allowed me to counsel individuals struggling with such issues as anxiety, depression, addiction, adjust to unexpected life events, grief, and trauma. My work in the field of trauma has also included working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood abuse. In addition, I have spent years working in the fields of home health and hospice, as well as providing support and psychotherapy to homeless individuals and those suffering from HIV/AIDS.

The past is in the present and the body remembers. With you guiding the sessions, I help you identify your earliest coping mechanisms so you can gain insight into why you have difficulties in the present. We can engage in "talk therapy" or I can use my skills and training in EMDR therapy to help you heal past trauma and to prepare for a brighter future! I have added two more therapist to the business. We have an Autism Support Group and a Soldier Support Group. If we can't help you, we will find someone who can.
