I have a passion for working with individuals and the therapeutic healing process. My area of focus is adverse life events and trauma or in other terms psychological wounds. At the core, Trauma overwhelms our coping abilities. There are multiple long-term impacts of our wounds that can create an imbalance in our daily functioning. Therapy is about a collaborative relationship between people. I have significant experience in helping individuals to reach their desired potential through strength-based, person centered, holistic therapy. I do not believe that there is a one-size-fits-all treatment protocol. I tailor my approach to meet the your needs and to build a relationship with you. My objective is to support and enable clients to discover their internal strengths, guiding them through life's challenges to liberate themselves from feelings of shame, guilt, denial, withdrawal, low self-esteem/confidence, hurt/pain, disappointments, trauma, and the complexities of grief and loss. Welcome to my profile. My 21 years being an educator has prepared me to serve in the capacity of a Professional Counselor. One of the reasons are the many years of working/displaying compassion for those with emotional/behavioral challenges. I have been able to transition my skills into counseling adults. I have a passion in helping people realize their possibilities, even when life says different. My work addresses the whole person; not fragments. Additionally, I believe the individual learns how to become more connected to themselves and their community, by learning their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral negative patterns.
