I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker focused on working with adults of all ages who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and serious illness. I earned my Master’s in Social Work degree from Columbia University after careers as a lawyer and marketing manager. I have practiced psychotherapy for over five years and also have experience working with older adults in both institutional and community settings, including hospice. I am particularly interested in issues experienced during life transitions, such as career changes, estrangements from family, caring for aging parents, and death of friends and family.
I view psychotherapy as a collaborative effort and strive to match psychotherapeutic interventions to the Client. I believe that Clients’ needs are multi-layered and can fluctuate. My primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and ACT. I include psychodynamic, EMDR and family systems theory as needed.
I am willing to engage Clients in an exploration of their questions, assumptions and mental processes and am also committed to delving deep into the trenches of emotional history to identify and process painful and problematic memories. Ultimately, I strive to join with Clients in pursuing desired change in whatever form that takes.
