I have an education in both clinical counseling and body psychology. My specialty is the treatment of trauma and PTSD for veterans and victims of sexual assault and violence.
Together we explore those life challenges that cause pain and uncertainty, including anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship issues, using gentle, collaborative methods that ensure safe, supportive results.
Through a combination of traditional psychotherapy and body-based modalities, such as polarity therapy, movement techniques, and sensory awareness, I help you access your body's wisdom to gently transform faulty beliefs and dissolve emotional blocks, which often results in relieving physical symptoms as well.
I received my masters degree in Community Counseling from UCCS, have studied somatic psychology at Naropa University, trained in trauma resolution from the Hakomi Somatic Institute, and am licensed as a therapeutic massage therapist. My movement teachers in the U.S. include Gabrielle Roth and Emilie Conrad and in Europe Patricia Martello.
I have assisted in training psychotherapists in body-based trauma techniques at the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, served as assistant faculty at Naropa University teaching a course in Hakomi Psychology which emphasized the treatment of trauma, and worked with combat veterans at the VA. I have also acted as visiting faculty at Colorado College.
