Most of us want the same thing. We want to feel reasonably happy and at peace on a daily basis. Content. It is our individual paths and our own often complicated personal histories that make happiness so uniquely difficult to achieve, sometimes. It is the creative work of therapy to support a person's capacity to access the very best part of her or himself. Once this occurs, people, essentially, heal themselves.
My specialty is psychological trauma. However, I see folks for other reasons, as well. The tools of trauma treatment are highly effective for depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or feeling stuck.
My therapeutic style is warm, accepting, and positive. I have an eclectic approach to treatment. I extensively use EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to process negative beliefs which may have been formed long ago. Belief systems greatly influence the way in which we see the world and ourselves in it.
