As a seasoned couples and individual therapist, I deeply understand that how we relate to ourselves and others is central to a meaningful life: feeling seen, having a sense of belonging, and being accepted feels like a safe home. When we feel misunderstood and unappreciated in contrast, it can be very painful and that pattern of 'lost in translation' can lead to loneliness and distance. Everyday life does not give us much free time, and so therapy can provide structure and clarity to help you in your relationships, beginning with practical skills + expertise to bridge that gap that can feel insurmountable at times.
My practice is almost evenly split between couples and individuals and so I offer an experience in both, from a relational lens. I am versed in Gottman, EFT, IFS, and TFCBT. I can explain all of these acronyms when we talk! I love this work, and I believe that part of the job is experiential but also the psycho-education piece.
When we begin therapy, we often simply want to feel different. It is courageous to allow hope of possibility. Therapy to me is myself as a human with other humans in a space where we try something different. I am an experienced + skilled therapist but also a person with humility, invested in your hope and confident in my ability to meet you where you are.
