My mission is to strengthen the emotional wellbeing of young children (babies-8 years old), and their families and teachers who support them. I believe that developing the coping skills of the children, while improving the family relationships (and school environment when possible) decreases and prevents behavior challenges. I provide family psychotherapy and parent coaching, with a combination of art therapy, play therapy, yoga and mindfulness techniques, to engage family members of all ages.
I also support the skills of early childhood education professionals to promote social-emotional development and manage behavior challenges. I am a certified trainer/coach of the Pyramid Model (Center for the Social and Emotional Foundations of Early Learning).
I am bilingual (native Spanish) and experienced with the complexities of raising multicultural, and special needs children. I have a PhD in Counseling and MA in Art Therapy from the George Washington University; play therapy training from the Starbright Training Institute and the Therapy Institute; and teacher certification in Radiant Child® Yoga.
