I use several therapy techniques including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and compassion work, neuropsychology, attachment theory, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Current Openings! - I love working with folx who see themselves as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and the ongoing marginalization of systemically disadvantaged people. I enjoy working with people in “non traditional” relationships and help people explore or deepen their connections to one another. I also work with folx who experience trauma and C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and illness, bipolar and other mood disorders, HAES, and kink & BDSM work.

I collaborate with clients to build positive experiences in a caring therapeutic relationship through talking, playing (children), and art.

I am available for new clients, individually or family sessions. I am also taking clients for a teen DBT skills group (ages 12-18 if still in high school). I see our work together as a team that balances putting in the hard work while understanding you have to have some laughs along the way! Above all modalities, the therapeutic relationship is what I value most in our work together. I primarily use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Art Therapy. Despite my degree in art therapy, my dual license allows me to provide more traditional talk therapy, too.

This inclusive philosophy integrates a variety of therapeutic techniques such as somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, DBT, ACT, and intuitive expression.
Imagine finally feeling like your true self, no longer overwhelmed or caught in a cycle of frustration from life's relentless challenges. Envision a space where supportive guidance gently unravels the burdens you've carried—be it relationship issues, stress, anxiety, the depths of depression, grief, or the shadows of past trauma—revealing the essence of who you are. I've been there too, caught in the same exhausting cycles that hold us back from truly living, and I understand the courage it takes to seek change. With a trauma-informed lens, I am deeply committed to guiding you through breaking free from life's overwhelming cycles.

My practice is based on an integrated approach that combines Mindfulness, Humanistic/Existential therapy, Attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENT! Are you living your best life? Do you sense your life has become unmanageable? Do you struggle in relationships? If your story contains themes of depression, anxiety, addiction, interpersonal issues or just "seem to be stuck right now"; lets have a conversation to see how I can help you to create a better story. I'm a therapist, but I'm also a parent and wife who makes plenty of mistakes. Luckily, perfection isn't necessary or desirable. It often takes only small, positive changes to yield significant benefits. Things can get better, sometimes quickly, if you begin taking steps in the right direction.

I provide a nonjudgemental space for clients to address anything you choose to bring to therapy. I work primarily with Narrative Therapy, which is a world view as much as it is a therapeutic approach. The Narrative approach puts your story at the center of the conversation. People in my practice are also seen through a multi-storied lens rather than a narrow singular story. I will have a friendly and laid back approach in our sessions. At the same time, I will also offer you direct feedback and honest observations. Mindfulness work, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Relational work are also important to me.

I also love doing work involving aspects of DBT therapy such as mindfulness.
I wonder what kind of therapists people scroll through psychology profiles to therapist shop for. When people ask me what my ideal client I actually wonder whats people's ideal therapists? I think this is important when thinking about an ideal client and therapists because I see it as a collaborative work. I'm not here to force you what I think is best for you, therapy is something both the client and therapist figure out together to meet the clients' needs and goals.

Thank you for being here. I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to seek therapeutic care, and I value the trust placed in me. I'm committed to justice and healing, both personally and collectively, valuing anti-racism and mutual aid in my work. I create a warm, safe setting to help you to integrate grief, trauma, altered states, and the esoteric in your life; working towards peace- even in the storm, healing and joy. I practice from Relational-Cultural Feminist Theory. One of my strengths is in recognizing therapy and healing don't happen in isolation -society and structural (in)equity impacts most everything we do.

I am passionate about being able to provide a mix of traditional and art therapy therapeutic components. I utilize a variety of modalities and interventions with a focus on creating a therapeutic connection blending Art Therapy (AT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), skills training, and mindfulness techniques. I am a firm believer that the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors create the lens from which we see the world. The way we feel about a situation “colors” our thoughts and perceptions. As an art therapist, I strive to help others add different "colors" to their situation.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
