I have added dialectical behavior therapy to my process as well.
Life can be hard, even more so when you have anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or relationship conflicts. It is time to level up. Change can be difficult, but you don't have to face it alone. We can work together on finding the solutions for sustainable growth.

I am trained in EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT Skills Coaching, CBT, crisis intervention and management.
Emotions are what make us human. We as human beings desire a sense of belonging. Understanding how we connect with others through our emotions and our environment can give us a deep sense of who we are. In therapy, we can learn to radically accept where we are emotionally and where we can grow. Therapy is a commitment to self-love. My goal is to create a safe and trusting space where effective communication can flourish. By openly exploring where barriers to growth might be and developing ways to mindfully process possible outcomes, we can together develop new ways to become whole.

I want to work together to change how you think so that you can leave therapy feeling like your best self. I'll teach you strategies that you will practice out of session to help with those repetitive thoughts & behaviors. Starting therapy with me is kind of like seeing a personal trainer - I'll hold you to the plan we create together.

As a behavioral therapist with training in DBT and CBT, I focus on cognitive distortions and maladaptive behaviors that damage relationships and sabotage personal and professional goals.
The challenges facing men and women today are very different than they have been in the past. Our roles have changed drastically over the past several decades: in the home, in the workplace and in society at large. Many of us struggle to balance our increasing career demands with the emotional needs of our families and friends. I draw from my experience as a Wall Street executive and extensive clinical training, to help my clients identify important coping strategies which enable them to enjoy success in the business world, and improve their relationships with spouses, children and friends.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
