I also have extensive training with trauma and utilize evidenced- based interventions, which include: EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused techniques, and Motivational Interviewing among others.
Are you unhappy with your life or unfulfilled in your relationships? Do you feel overwhelmed by worry, sadness, anxiety or uncertainty? Sometimes we just get stuck and find that coping on our own isn't working. My passion is working with college students and young adults to provide supportive therapy around a variety of issues that feel too big to manage on your own anymore. I use evidenced- based interventions specializing in depression, anxiety, relationships and behavior patterns, as well as addiction issues. I am accepting new clients and will respond the same day.

For adolescents I often teach the tenets of DBT and coping skills.
My sincere apologies, I am not taking new clients at this time. I wish you the best in finding a good fit therapist. You may be looking for a therapist because of a crisis of some kind; a depression, a loss, anxiety, or trauma symptoms. I see crisis as an opportunity for growth and love being there for people in their time of greatest need. Crisis can be seen as an invitation to go inward and reflect on what is not working. As a trauma informed psychotherapist with a relational approach, I work collaboratively with clients to identify what is keeping you from living more fully so you can live a more integrated and healthier life.

I am trained in Family Based Treatment (FBT), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), the Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM) for developmental trauma, and am certified in Psychedelic Assisted Therapies from Naropa University.
You’re tired of feeling like thoughts about food and your body dictate how you spend your day. It feels like you cannot escape the voice in your head that tells you that you are not thin enough, you ate too much, and the most important thing about you is the way you look. The truth is - your body is not the problem. It never was. Our culture is structured to make us fit inside narrow constructs that oppress who we are. We will work toward body liberation. Body liberation is the freedom from social and political systems of oppression that designate certain bodies as more worthy, healthy, and desirable than others.

My speciality is using DBT, depth psychology (Jungian psychology), dream work, and body-oriented practices to help you learn how to listen to yourself deeply and feel better.
My passion is to work with women who are stepping into the truth of who they are. I work with people who can no longer avoid the calling to go within, to find the answers to the hard questions, What am I hungry for? What is life asking of me? What am I here to do? Usually this begins with a fair amount of suffering and struggle, whether it's an encounter with an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, self-harm, or simply life confusion.

Feeling more tired than usual, wondering how you are going to make it through the day? Are you frustrated with trying to achieve things you feel you should be able to do, but somehow can’t? Do you have thoughts and feelings of anxiety, anger, betrayal, shame, grief, or humiliation log jammed in your mind? You wish life could be better, but you can’t seem to find the path there on your own, even after doing your best. What if you could clear the log jam? Be kinder to yourself? Feel part of the world?

You've experienced infidelity by someone you trust and now you're confused and left to deal with overwhelming decisions. The person you once knew is a stranger who is mistreating you now. You feel sick to your stomach most of the time, can't sleep, hell- you can barely function. And yet you know you have to keep it together. You need support but no one seems to really get it and you're so embarrassed to be in this place in your life. Every memory you have is tainted and you're left questioning the entire history of your relationship. You wonder if this nightmare will ever end. You just want to wake up to a different life.

You deserve to be having the best days! You know that something has to shift, but not exactly sure what that is or how things will change. Your emotions might be inhibiting you from feeling empowered, confident and clear in your decision making. I would be honored to support you in gaining perspective through a style that is direct, down to earth and focuses on a collaborative approach. I believe that life is a series of transitions, some more challenging than others, and that there is no reason to proceed solo.

It didn’t come as a shock. Your grandmother was elderly and had been sick for some time. But the news of her death hit you like a ton of bricks. You’re not sure why it’s affecting you so much. You can’t stop crying, and it’s hard to concentrate. You’re falling behind at work, and you worry that your partner will get sick of your dark mood. You thought you'd done a lot of work on becoming more resilient and learning how to cope, but now it feels like you've lost those gains somehow. Nothing you try makes a difference, and you’re embarrassed to be struggling so much. It feels overwhelming, frustrating, and isolating.

I specialize in healing complex and developmental trauma. Even when we've had well-intentioned parents, we can develop patterns of behavior that though were once adaptive, now only keep us stuck. These patterns typically manifest as anxiety, depression, self-hatred, addictions, obsessions, compulsions, codependency and other problematic experiences. I work experientially in the moment to get to the root of what is getting in the way of desired experiences on an identity level, supporting each client through a tailored reconnection to unprocessed emotions. Many clients describe this process as "coming home" to themselves.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
