I have experience in many therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness/Grounding techniques, and more.
I am particularly passionate about serving individuals in the neurodivergent, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA+ communities. As a member of all three communities, I know that these three identities often intersect to affect our mental health, most often in a negative way. I want to help my clients understand the many different ways in which they intersect and take steps to use those intersections to their advantage.

I will utilize a person-centered approach, recognizing that you are the expert in your life while incorporating evidence-based practices that include DBT, ACT, & Brainspotting,.
Sometimes we feel stuck. We’ve tried on our own to heal, grow, and learn but we still find ourselves in the same patterns that have led to a continuous cycle of confusion, shame, and hopelessness. You are not alone. If you have found yourself questioning your worth, your relationships, or your identity, I am here to help. Most of us know, logically, that hardship, distress, and unwanted emotions are a part of life. But sometimes we were not given the correct tools to manage these difficult experiences. Together, I believe we can connect back to your authentic self so that you can lead the life you want.

I use ACT and CBT to help clients identify and explore thoughts and feelings, and use DBT therapy to help clients learn skills to find emotional peace and cope with distressing emotions.
Stress, anxiety, uncertainty, and fear can feel overwhelming. You may find yourself turning to drugs or alcohol, harmful eating patterns, self-harm, or fall back on other old habits to cope with your emotions. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, or fear. Maybe you are in recovery from addiction or an eating disorder, and are having trouble maintaining your progress. You may be navigating your gender and sexual identify. Or perhaps you are concerned that your teenager is dealing with some of these issues. Whatever you are facing, you are not alone! I am here to provide support, guidance, and encouragement.

We'll use mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and CBT-Insomnia to help you sleep well.
Are you bombarded with thoughts that you’re unworthy of love or success? Do you feel like you’re too far behind or a fraud? Does this cause insomnia? Are you chronically dissatisfied, struggling to maintain moods let alone motivation? I’m here to tell you it’s ok; I know how that feels and it stinks. I help folks struggling with depression and anxiety so they grow beyond life’s transitions, be it relationships, gaining independence or grief, which isn’t just the loss of a loved one, it can also be the loss of a life we thought we’d have. You deserve contentment now.

I'm credentialed by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies to provide CBT, and I also use other evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-based therapies.
Anxiety, Addiction, or Depression might have you feeling like you've lost touch with the life you really want. You might feel alone in all this, but I promise you're not. I help people just like you learn concrete tools and strategies to achieve the life you want. It's ok if you aren't sure what you want. We can figure it out together and build a roadmap for how to get there. The most important thing that a client needs is a therapist who is nonjudgmental, compassionate, relatable, and down to earth - so I work hard to embody these qualities.

I offer indivudal, family and couples therapy using modalities like CBT, DBT and Strengths based work.
We all come to therapy to improve our quality of life. I appreciate working with indivudals and couples that are motivated for change and insight. I have experience working with Veterans and really enjoy managing with the stressors of deployment. I also appreciate the struggle of transitioning back to civillian life and creating a new sense of balance. Being from a military family myself really helps me to understand the nuances of this process. There are so many challenges we face as humans, and I am ready to help those who show up with a desire to create a life worth living.

Offering Teletherapy in Most States: I primarily use IFS and behavioral treatments (ACT, DBT, CFT, RODBT) to emphasize acceptance of one's current experience, the development of skills (mindfulness, play, perspective, assertiveness, inquiry, and values), and use courage and experimentation to help promote change. I also help facilitate ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and I am strong advocate of developing the skill of compassion for oneself and others. Many of us struggle with finding a sense of being home with reality as it is, although that home is always available and may be easier to return to than assumed.

My therapeutic style is mixed; I largely utilize approaches from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Life is full of many types of suffering, some of which strike in the most unexpected of moments. Kurt Vonnegut wrote that "we are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is," and I pledge to work with my clients to shift our relationship with our own suffering. I want to both reduce the weight of one's inner problematic experiences and to create more distance and more balance with how they are experienced.

Because each individual is unique, I draw from an eclectic approach of modalities; narrative therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, Emotion – Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, motivational interviewing, and Eye – Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
When certain parts of our life feel outside of our control, it creates stress that impacts other parts of our life. Seeking help can feel like an additional stress. Not only do you have to find someone that you feel like is a good personality match, but you are expected to tell your story to someone you don’t know. That can be a hard thing to ask of someone.

I help teens and young adults navigate the turbulence of hormones, and school work, friendships and home life, college and relationships, and all the other activities and significant events happening, while trying to discover who they are and what makes them feel most alive.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, direct, and unconditionally caring. I utilize a person-centered approach incorporating trauma-informed principles and a harm-reduction lens. I seek to foster brave spaces for deep transformation to take place, where laughter and tears are welcomed to flow freely. Some therapeutic modalities that I incorporate include polyvagal theory, EMDR, attachment theory, DBT, and somatic-based processing. These theories are guideposts of my clinical judgment, but ultimately I recognize you as the expert of your own lived experience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
