I am certified in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), which aims to regulate your emotions and change unhealthy behaviors.
Hey Sis, the transition to womanhood and motherhood can be filled with many emotions, thoughts and behaviors, some of which can be distressing at times. Having a safe space to process your experiences during this time in your life can be beneficial. With the appropriate supports, skills and trust in yourself, healing is possible.

I am trained in CBT, DBT, Positive Psychology, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and psychoanalytic theory.
Are you weighed down by worries, regrets, traumas, hurt, or pain? Everyone has a story and should have the opportunity to tell it in a non-judgmental environment. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and my areas of expertise include young through older adults with trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use/co-occurring disorders. As an eclectic, person-centered therapist I believe in tailoring treatment to each client’s needs, so I do not use one modality across the board. I’ve always been highly empathic and view issues in a destigmatizing way: I don’t ask what is wrong with you, but what happened to you?

I have implemented CBT and DBT approaches.
Do you feel anxious, depressed, or any emotions that can be overbearing? We’re all humans and it happens to the best of us, but how do we make the best version of ourselves when we feel this way? When going through mental health issues, we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety. I want us to choose the option to step forward and grow. Together we can help you build positive habits and enhance your coping skills to focus on your strengths so you start to feel that weight lifted from your shoulders. Individuals ready for this change will be guided and empowered to take this leap into their journey

Do the logistics of getting the therapy appointments stop you from prioritizing your mental health? Picture a life where therapy seamlessly unfolds within the walls of your own home, eliminating the hurdles of travel, scheduling, and the pixelated void of online sessions. For busy professionals or parents caught in the whirlwind of modern life, especially moms juggling childcare, F.I.T.H. is the answer. No longer is accessing mental health services a logistical puzzle; instead, it's a commitment to prioritize your well-being in a way that is distinctly yours.

There’s a part of you that feels like you’re about to 🅴🆇🅿🅻🅾🅳🅴! You're stuck in a repetitive cycle with little improvement. You find it hard to smile sometimes and it makes you wonder when peace will arrive. You’re burnt out, too tired to hang with friends, too overwhelmed to play with your kids and the sight of your significant other is not helping. How long will continue with these repetitive cycles? This isn’t a healthy way to live and if you continue you may end up resenting the world and yourself. Operating from a place of discomfort is never easy and finding the help you deserve can be even harder.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
