About
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders including PTSD. Additionally, I provide treatment for emotion dysregulation more generally. Trained at Duke University Medical Center and Emory University School of Medicine with advanced experience in treating trauma and anxiety, I am well experienced in working with individuals with complex presentations or difficulties. My practice utilizes cutting edge evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Specifically for PTSD, I also employ Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).
My practice is conducted within a cognitive and behavioral framework in which thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are conceptualized as being linked. The treatments that I use focus on helping you in these areas, and have been studied and found to be effective.
Therapy will help you find new ways of connecting, coping, and engaging in your life. I strive to help you improve your life in a meaningful way, guided by your values, and I integrate both change and acceptance based strategies to help you along the way.
