"Many of the clients that I partner with are individuals who are looking for joy, but may struggle with past issues, hurts and pains. Some of my partners struggle with rejection, race, class and gender issues that are impacting their peace. Others that I work with are looking for their niche in life and need help processing their emotions or just need an extra ear. I have partnered with many who are along their grieving process journey or dealing with a break-up. Some may come from emotionally or physically abusive backgrounds, be it from parents or partners. Together we can build the future you want, need and have imagined!"

"I believe the goal of therapy is greater self knowledge. We all have parts of ourselves that we don't recognize, don't understand, or simply feel we cannot change. These ideas or feelings can lead us to behave in ways that are not in our own best interest, causing depression, fear, stress, anxiety, as well as difficulties in romantic, social and family relationships, work life, and creative expression. I can work with you to recognize what is causing the difficulties in your life, and how you can grow into a more fulfilling way of living."

"Making the choice to engage in therapy is a brave and meaningful step towards the possibility for change. Change may include addressing problematic feelings, thoughts, or behaviors that leave you feeling stuck or dissatisfied. Or change may involve learning to cope with the unpredictable and often overwhelming challenges that life presents. Therapy can play a pivotal role in providing the nonjudgmental support, the opportunity for self-understanding, and the guidance in developing the effective strategies that are often needed to make change a reality. I will work with you to determine if I am the right therapist for you."

"My approach is to help you feel better in a short time. I use Cognitive Therapy. The way you feel depends on how you see a situation. If you are anxious or depressed, you have symptoms, so you don't see things realistically. So often, you can feel anxious when the event you are afraid of never happens. The therapy consists of teaching you a set of skills that allows you to see the thoughts that underlie your feelings and neutralize the ones that are not realistic. The result is that you feel better in a short time."

"You're so used to 'doing it all' for everyone else that you've neglected yourself in the process. Silently struggling, you don't share what's going on because you "should be able to handle it all" or "don't want to burden anyone". Beyond the outward appearance you feel the pressure building; anxiety, depression and overwhelm are taking over. Being driven and always handling things is just how you've always been and what you've had to do. And staying busy helps distract what's looming inside: uncertainty, insecurity, doubt and fear. You don't like asking for help, but realize things are only getting worse and you want change."

"A sense of emotional and psychological safety is necessary for living a productive, fulfilling life. Uncomfortable or conflicting feelings can lessen our quality of life. For many people, it can be difficult to share these emotions openly with family and friends. This can contribute to emotional distress, isolation, and detachment from a thriving life. Therapeutic support can help gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and navigate the many complex facets of interpersonal relationships. Developmental Disorders Therapists
'Developmental disorder' is the collective term used to describe the disorders, first diagnosed in a child's infancy or early childhood, which then become more apparent as the kids develop during their childhood and into their teens and adolescence. Like all labels, it means little and is open to interpretation.

The developmental disorders are categorized in to two areas: specific developmental disorders, which affect discrete parts of a kid's development, and the pervasive disorders (e.g. PDD New York), which affect multiple developmental basics. The specific developmental disorders include communication disorders, speech and language issues, such as stuttering or lisps in New York; learning disorders; and motor function or motor skills disorders, which may include tics or Tourette's in New York.

The pervasive developmental disorders (PDDs) include autism, asperger's, attention-deficit and disruptive behavior disorders.

There are other issues that can affect childhood development, which are included in the developmental disorders--such as feeding and eating disorders, elimination disorders, separation anxiety disorder, and reactive attachment disorder.

Look here for help with children, kids or teens with developmental disorders in New York or New York developmental issues. Try a New York child therapist, New York facility or New York treatment program. These therapists provide help with kids' developmental issues in New York, child development, teen development and adolescent development.
