"I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years. Early in my career I co-authored a book called Relationships, which explored how marriages either succeeded or failed. My work on the book helped me formulate a way of working with couples, one that was supportive of struggle in the interest of strengthening the relationship bond. I attempt to help couples not only survive but also to thrive. In addition, I do long- term psychodynamic work with individuals . I have worked with many people struggling with depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress."

"Are you at the end of your marital rope? Are you frustrated, angry but don't want to give up? For over thirty years I have taken an active and intensive approach to teaching couples specific methods for making things right when things go wrong. Unlike most other couples approaches, I name names and even take sides when I think it is necessary. I am on the side of your relationship and teach you how to fight for the relationship rather than to fight against each other."

"I work with individuals, couples and families looking for peace, understanding, safety and connection in their lives. Whether the difficulty and pain you experience comes from trauma, neglect, abandonment or relationship conflict I believe you have the capacity and right to heal, feel good and live a good life; and that you can! I've worked with people recovering from childhood neglect, sexual and emotional abuse and the lack of connection that comes from preoccupied, distant, disconnected and or self absorbed parents and find every one can heal. Intensives are very beneficial for couples in conflict."

"It takes courage to contact a psychotherapist. Thoughts and feelings can be complicated, and it can seem easier to just keep trudging on. If you’re here, you’re ready for a change. Maybe the life you want is not the life you have. Perhaps you’re stressed out, grieving, or have a trauma history. You may suffer with a chronic illness, or you could be grappling with alcohol or drug addiction – your own or someone else’s. If you're in a relationship, you and a partner may want to discuss each other’s feelings. If you’re a parent, you might be concerned that your son or daughter has gotten off track. My work spans a wide range of issues."

"I'm a Jungian-oriented analyst offering in-depth psychotherapy to adults having concerns around relationships, self esteem, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions. I don't offer prescriptions or quick fixes, but I do offer a way for you to come to know yourself more fully – like Jung, I see this as a sure path to genuine, lasting healing. I've trained with the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association in New York, and with Buddhist institutes in New York and Santa Fe. My primary orientation is Jungian, but my work is also informed by Zen Buddhist thought and practice, and by the interpersonal school of psychoanalysis."

"What is life throwing at you? Are you helping yourself; are you in the way? Do you know your strengths and how to apply them? Are relationships satisfying, frustrating or exhausting? If you're older, you may have those questions as well as additional challenges. Is your body throwing curves, which belie how young you feel inside? Aging affords advantages but it is not always easy to feel them. As a psychotherapist I can help you use these questions to understand, dismantle, and outflank your internal blocks and disabling feelings simultaneously finding strength and resources. It's a wonderful process."

"I specialize in mood disorders and anxiety. I've published five books--Undoing Depression is probably the most familiar---on depression, stress, and happiness, My latest, "Rewire," was released August 2014. My approach is basically psychodynamic, with a lot of CBT and mindfulness. I believe that anyone can change--the brain can literally be rewired--but it takes a lot of patience and practice. Most of the people I meet have been battered around by life, and it's left scars--difficulty hoping, difficulty trusting. It's my job to mobilize that hope and trust."

"Phone, Skype, and in-person sessions. How do we find our way in a confusing, stressful, and sometimes lonely world? There are times in everyone's life when a bit of reflection, care, and guidance are needed to connect with the best within and to discover inner resources we may not even have known were there. As a spiritual psychologist, it is my life's work to help people gain clarity and freedom to make positive choices. You are much more than your anxiety, sadness, compulsive thoughts, or habits. Change is more possible than you may think!"

"I believe that depression and anxiety emerge from patterns of emotion, thought, and behavior that we learned in order to survive. So therapy begins with a faith that you came by your struggles honestly, in an effort to protect yourself and make sense of your world. From there, the first step is to recognize how these patterns function now in your life and your mind, and to believe in the possibility that you can feel different--freer, safer, calmer, more lovable. Developmental Disorders Therapists
'Developmental disorder' is the collective term used to describe the disorders, first diagnosed in a child's infancy or early childhood, which then become more apparent as the kids develop during their childhood and into their teens and adolescence. Like all labels, it means little and is open to interpretation.

The developmental disorders are categorized in to two areas: specific developmental disorders, which affect discrete parts of a kid's development, and the pervasive disorders (e.g. PDD New York), which affect multiple developmental basics. The specific developmental disorders include communication disorders, speech and language issues, such as stuttering or lisps in New York; learning disorders; and motor function or motor skills disorders, which may include tics or Tourette's in New York.

The pervasive developmental disorders (PDDs) include autism, asperger's, attention-deficit and disruptive behavior disorders.

There are other issues that can affect childhood development, which are included in the developmental disorders--such as feeding and eating disorders, elimination disorders, separation anxiety disorder, and reactive attachment disorder.
