"Clients usually seek therapy when they feel "stuck" and unable to move beyond the challenges they are facing. I am passionate about helping people tackle life's challenges and working with people on various skills and tools, to help them feel more empowered and more in control. I work with my clients to help them identify and eventually combat harmful beliefs that may be holding them back from achieving their goals and living the life they desire. I believe in teaching my clients helpful and effective techniques that they can use in the world outside the therapy room."

"I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, and relationship conflicts. I help my clients identify troubling thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns with the goal of shifting to healthier and more adaptive perspective and decision making. I work with an eclectic, integrative approach and base my practice techniques on the unique needs of the individual, as psychotherapy is not based upon a "one size fits all" approach. I pay close attention to the relationships within a client's life, and incorporate techniques from both cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy. I provide tools on how to effectively alter maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, while also taking into consideration the individual's history and past experiences. "

"Many of the clients that I partner with are individuals who are looking for joy, but may struggle with past issues, hurts and pains. Some of my partners struggle with rejection, race, class and gender issues that are impacting their peace. Others that I work with are looking for their niche in life and need help processing their emotions or just need an extra ear. I have partnered with many who are along their grieving process journey or dealing with a break-up. Some may come from emotionally or physically abusive backgrounds, be it from parents or partners. For us- it was bigger than an online library of people. We wanted to build a community. We wanted a village of people ready to offer services that inspire people to live their best lives. We decided to no longer dream about the possibilities but to create them. "

Each person has learned beliefs and ideologies from their family of origin and bring those with them when they enter a new relationship. Helping uncover how those beliefs affect their lives is often key to the underpinnings of their problems and being able to decide what works for them is critical to being able to create a strong foundation in their relationships."

Developmental Disorders Therapists
'Developmental disorder' is the collective term used to describe the disorders, first diagnosed in a child's infancy or early childhood, which then become more apparent as the kids develop during their childhood and into their teens and adolescence. Like all labels, it means little and is open to interpretation.

The developmental disorders are categorized in to two areas: specific developmental disorders, which affect discrete parts of a kid's development, and the pervasive disorders (e.g. PDD New York), which affect multiple developmental basics. The specific developmental disorders include communication disorders, speech and language issues, such as stuttering or lisps in New York; learning disorders; and motor function or motor skills disorders, which may include tics or Tourette's in New York.

The pervasive developmental disorders (PDDs) include autism, asperger's, attention-deficit and disruptive behavior disorders.

There are other issues that can affect childhood development, which are included in the developmental disorders--such as feeding and eating disorders, elimination disorders, separation anxiety disorder, and reactive attachment disorder.

Look here for help with children, kids or teens with developmental disorders in New York or New York developmental issues.
