My goal as a social worker is to help individuals, of all ages, in need improve the quality of their lives and their well-being. Problems that I might help people with may include behavioral, health, and social issues. As a clinical social worker I offer counseling services to those individuals in need. Social workers who specialize in mental health issues work with clients battling mental illness, substance misuse, interpersonal relationship problems, among other challenges. I can provide clients with individual or group therapy, as well as referral opportunities for social rehabilitation and crisis intervention.

Clinical social work is a specialty practice area of social work which focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illness, emotional, and other behavioral disturbances. Individual, group and family therapy are common treatment modalities. I can help you with transitioning to life changing circumstances, adapt, and flourish.

As your therapist I am genuinely engaged in the therapeutic relationship and have unconditional positive regard for my clients. I feel empathy for my clients, and clearly communicate these attitudes. As far as I am concerned, we are in this together.

Desiree I Reese's Groups

Codependency

Codependency allows addictive behaviors to thrive. In short, you're dealing with a vicious cycle that calls for expert intervention. The best course of action is to help your loved one find treatment. Next, the co-dependent family member needs to get help as well. Sometimes, codependent people don't want to seek help. However, not getting help jeopardizes their loved one's future sobriety.

Anger Management

Anger management refers to a process. It can help people identify stressors. People learn steps to help them stay calm in anger management. They may then handle tense situations in a constructive, positive way. The purpose of anger management is to help a person decrease anger. It reduces the emotional and physical arousal that anger can cause. It is generally impossible to avoid all people and settings that incite anger. But a person may learn to control reactions and respond in a socially appropriate manner. The support of a mental health professional may be helpful in this process.
