Hi! My name is Derick, a therapist with a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I received my bachelor’s in Psychology with ABA from Troy University. I have a strong passion for counseling, and I specialize in working with individual adults (18+) and couples, supporting them through a wide range of life challenges, disorders, transitions, and diagnoses. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling with an eclectic theoretical orientation, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and many other counseling techniques to support each client.
I am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming therapeutic space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I am dedicated to providing inclusive support for LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and anyone who sits across from me. I approach every client with cultural sensitivity, empathy, and respect.
At the core of my work, I strive to help all clients recognize their strengths, confront their fears, understand their limitations, and move confidently toward their goals.
