Dr. Derek Vigon is a licensed clinical and sport psychologist in Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Vigon has worked in a number of clinical settings including hospital inpatient, community mental health, university counseling centers, and Division 1 athletic departments. This range of experience has allowed him to work with individuals spanning diverse presenting problems and multicultural backgrounds. Dr. Vigon has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. He has experience providing performance enhancement psychological skills training to athletes and performers.
While Dr. Vigon works with a wide range of adolescent and adult clients, his area of expertise is the treatment of anxiety disorders. Additionally, Dr. Vigon has received extensive training in the treatment of depressive disorders, post-traumatic stress, disordered eating, identity related concerns, and relationship concerns.
Dr. Vigon works from an integrative framework, and aims to empower clients by providing a safe therapeutic relationship that facilitates trust, authenticity, and collaboration.
