I frequently partner with clients wrestling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, grief, and loss.
I believe every person needs and deserves a safe place, absent of judgment and expectation to explore our stories, life experiences, pain, loss, grief, and trauma. We benefit immensely with assistance and support outside ourselves on our journeys to hope, wholeness, and healing. I am inspired by the tremendous strength and courage it takes to reach out for help and invest in oneself.

I help people that are working through various types of traumas, experiencing anxiety, depression, mood fluctuations, and anyone who wants to improve their coping and distress tolerance skills.
My therapy practice is centered in helping people discover the strength they already have, but have been struggling to use. Therapy can be useful for anyone, but sometimes finding the strength to seek out help can be the hardest part. I use a non-judgemental, empathetic, and casual approach with my clients to meet them wherever they are in their lives. Together, we establish goals and solutions. I work with those who are struggling with self-expression and effective communication as well as those who are having difficulty with identity exploration within and outside of relationships.

Together my hope is that my clients and I will do the hard work of restoring the painting of their life to its intended beauty, free of the depression, anxiety and trauma that have left their marks on each of us.
I graduated from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2011 and have been working with children, teens, families and adults in a variety of settings ranging from church kids to registered sex offenders in the foster care system. The last three years, I have been in community mental health working with low income children and their families. I utilize PACE in therapy (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) as my primary therapeutic stance and rely heavily on Narrative, Existential, and Relational Psychoanalytic therapies.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in Mountlake Terrace. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
