I like to compare my therapeutic approach to teaching someone how to drive a car. I create a safe space for clients to take the driver’s seat, as I help to guide, encourage, and sometimes point out blind spots. I believe that every individual is the expert in their own life and capable of healing, however sometimes we need someone to come along side us and help uncover the skills and insights needed to begin the healing journey. My mission is simple, to help people of color who are motivated to change, begin their healing.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment concerns, healing mother wounds, and other family challenges. I use a trauma informed approach, which includes cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic techniques.
My counseling style is compassionate, empathetic and interactive. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort. I invite you to reach out with any questions and inquiries about my services and therapeutic approach.
