I am a NY state licensed clinical and school psychologist with more than 20 years of experience (as a therapist, educator, administrator, researcher, author and clinical supervisor) providing services to children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of concerns. Psychotherapy provides a safe, supportive space in which to gain insight and develop skills to manage difficult emotions, relationships and life circumstances. I will meet you with compassion where you are as we explore your and/or your child's goals together. My warm nature and active-listening style will help you feel comfortable and understood as trust develops.
My specialty areas include the treatment of anxiety disorders such as, generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder, phobias and social anxiety. I also see clients for bereavement, chronic and terminal illness, parenting, academic pressure, and coping with life transitions and stressors individually and within the family system.
My integrative approach to psychotherapy allows for flexibility to work together in a collaborative and compassionate way in light of your needs and goals. I have an interactive, eclectic therapeutic approach that incorporates goal-directed evidence-based interventions (CBT) with insight-oriented work (Psychodynamic), as well as mindfulness.
