We will devise a plan of action together to help establish healthy coping skills for depression/anxiety, stress or whatever the issue presented may be.
Have you arrived at a point in your life where something(s) (an event, a belief, a person, your job, your relationships) are no longer acceptable or intolerable causing you significant fear, worry, sadness, lack of motivation, confusion or chaos? Have you become willing to be completely honest with yourself, to seek an alternative perspective from a non- judgmental/unemotionally involved party for guidance to change or manage the issue by adopting acceptance, making a commitment to a plan and follow through with the plan. If you are at this point, I can offer you strength and guidance to get your life back.

I have experience in working with a variety of issues, including relationship issues, weight and eating issues, trauma (incest, abuse, rape, crime, accidents, ptsd, tbi), marriage, divorce, family conflict, career/work problems, spiritual issues, identity development, anxiety and depression.
My approach is accepting, caring, confidential and non-judgmental, as well as practical and grounded. Out cultural institutions do not prepare us for the diversity of experience we face as adults. Conformity to outdated rules of thinking and acting do not work in situations that invite flexibility and adaptiveness. Rigid thinking patterns are maladaptive and lead to frustration, stress, and depression. We are led to believe we "should" be able to solve problems through mastery of our behavior and feelings, but it's just that demand to control things that leads to a identity. confusion. Therapy is not education: I don't work from a lesson plan that has all the right answers. We will work your story 'till it makes sense.

Life is a continuing journey of growth and change. How we handle that growth and change will determine how successful we are in navigating relationships, careers, personal development, and obstacles that we come across in our daily lives. Oftentimes it is difficult to process everything going on in life when you're at the center of it, even when things are going well! Therapy is a resource to help process everything that make us who we are, the good and bad: depression, anxiety, self-confidence, trauma, identity discovery, toxic relationships, aimlessness, conflict with peers/family, career development, loss/grief, and much more.

Healthy relationships are my goal and my mission. I'm especially passionate about working with couples, both premarital and marital. I achieve this best through a program called "Ultimate Integrity." Most of my couples say that a lack of integrity is a major problem in their relationships and this (UI) program can be very helpful to heal the wounds of lies and deceit and replace with truth and love. Many couples also struggle with stress, depression, anxiety, and addictions. I'm very proactive to identify effective strategies and coping skills to resolve these concerns.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in Ventura. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
