I focus on relationship issues, anxiety, depression, work and career issues, spiritual issues, and the development of well-being and happiness.
I offer psychotherapy, with a focus on managing difficulties and learning from life's struggles. Together we reach an understanding of what you're experiencing, and create solutions geared toward easing your discomfort. When we are receptive to the voice of the unconscious, through exploration of dreams and struggles, we can find inner wisdom to meet life's challenges.

I treat adults, teens and children. With children, there is an opportunity to encourage the resilience that exists in each child. Therapy provides a fun way to examine tough situations and gives both parent and child the tools to move into the future with enhanced family communication, improved mood and more success at school. Cognitive therapy with adults helps to decrease the anxiety or depression that they may feel in daily living. Adults may be processing a specific event or relationship issues that decrease their potential for happiness.

Experiencing high levels of anxiety, compulsive behaviors, depression, and/or panic-attacks can be a signal that you are not putting yourself first and closing parts of you off.
I believe therapy has the potential to help align yourself more confidently to your own body, feelings, and spirit. I am currently offering teletherapy sessions until it is safe to return to in-person. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so we can chat and see if we feel like a good fit. Feeling unsupported along with lacking in confidence in your abilities can be heartbreaking. I believe it is essential to listen to the healthy part of you that knows there has to be something better than constant worry. There is! I deeply understand the hurt that comes with not being heard or seen.

I also appreciate conflict work with couples and individuals whom experience anxiety and depression under a parenting paradigm to best support the whole family unit.
I offer client-centered behavioral treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of the individual and family dynamic relation. I aim to direct outcomes to embrace values and identified goals that lead to a harmonious life, as evidence by notable improvements in all comprehensive life domains. I believe that parenting and leading by example, driven by heart and evidenced-based interventions, allow a child and a whole family unit to find homeostasis that opens up growth individually and collectively through conscious behavioral parenting while empowering children to effectively cope and communicate more appropriately their needs.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in Ventura. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
