In my practice as a licensed clinical psychologist for children and adults, I use cognitive behavioral treatments and other strategies whose effectiveness is well supported by research studies. Finding the right fit is important, and I'm here to help.

I'm an experienced therapist who works well with people who are struggling with depression and/or anxiety, having difficulties in relationships, or who are just generally confused about who they are or where they are going in their lives.
"Taking that first and often most difficult step of getting help can be a turning point in a person's life. I believe that I can help people make significant changes in their lives by uncovering whatever's been holding them back and developing new tools to move forward. I also believe myself to be compassionate, easy to talk to, and effective in enabling people to understand themselves in a way which can be empowering.

"Without awareness, we are not truly alive" - James F. T. Bugental. The purpose of psychotherapy is to awaken the individual and increase insight through exploration of their life, choices, and resistance's. This examination is a personal journey and different for each person. Although difficult and challenging at times, it is a courageous endeavor that can lead to life long positive changes, new ways of being in the world, and a deeper meaning and purpose for one's life.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in 20170. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
