I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed with depression, anxiety, daily stress, and those going through challenging life transitions.
I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to allow people to comfortably express and process their thoughts and feelings. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and their therapist to work towards a goal. It is also a way for someone to explore why they may be feeling or thinking a certain way, which, in turn, can help them learn more about themselves and make positive life changes.

We have experience working with those who face Academic Struggles, Addictions, ADHD, Anger, Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar, Behavioral Problems, Breakups, Codependency, Communication, Dating, Divorce, Depression, Grief, Hoarding, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Parenting Issues, Relational Problems, Self-Injurious Behavior, Trauma, Work conflicts, etc.
NOW OFFERING ART THERAPY. Many people have had negative experiences with counseling, making them hesitant to seek help again. We are especially skilled at working with those who are uncomfortable with the idea of therapy. Clients have described us as “Therapists for people who don’t like therapy”. We try to understand people on an individual level & adapt our skills to meet their needs. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, & nonjudgmental atmosphere. Therapy should not be simply "learning coping skills", to deal with negative feelings, it should involve working to root of the problem to facilitate long-lasting change.

I will utilize these approaches in order to address various issues related to anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem, anger, relationship issues etc.
Unfortunately previous negative experiences with counseling can impact one's decision to seek out treatment again. Therapy isn't about walking into a room because of needing to be "fixed". Therapy is a collaborative approach that begin's with me creating a safe, comfortable, and non judgmental environment. I will always recognize the person before the behavior that we are working to change. My hope at the end of each session is to assist with enhancing your strengths to elicit long term change.

*NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!* I practice Art Therapy and strive to develop individualized interventions to meet your specific needs and abilities. A common misconception of art therapy is that it requires artistic skill however this is not true! My clients simply share a willingness to explore, create, and step outside of comfort zones while I can assist with bringing creative ideas to life and guide therapeutic discussion. Some examples of goals that can be addressed in art therapy are increased communication skills and self-esteem; decreased anxiety, depression, and stress; and processing of relationships and events.

Anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and/or co-dependency can get in the way of having confidence in yourself or getting what you really want in relationships or even loving yourself. I'll "roll up my sleeves" and help find real answers and new pathways that will make a difference. The chronic cycle of trying to deal with it and feeling like you are getting no where can end. I will help you feel better and be more of what you want to be.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in 16066. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
