In my 25 years of psychotherapy practice for individuals, couples, and families, I have helped people identify, explore and heal the issues that have kept them from accomplishing what they want with their lives. My experience has shown that moving beyond right/wrong thinking, judgments and emotional reactivity can greatly facilitate growth and freedom. Paying attention to the sensations and feeling in our bodies and relaxing through deep breathing can create insights to quickly reveal one's essential issues. Over the last ten years I have spent considerable time doing couples therapy.
Common issues that have occurred are: poor communication, lack of understanding between partners, inability to resolve conflicts, and unmet and/or unexpressed needs. I try to be very practical and give techniques to practice at home to deepen the bond that has been weakened by resentment and distancing from each other.
The result of this work together is that couples feel more appreciated, a deeper sense of teamwork, and a tremendous deepening of their love for each other. My marriage continues to provide insights into understanding issues between men and women as well as inspiration into what the couple can reach.
