Life is hard and trauma of all kinds can wear down the strongest of us! But it is the strong who actually ask for help to deal with the challenges that life today throws at us. As a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist who practices from the Strengths Perspective, I work with my clients to identify those thoughts, behaviors and situations that might be holding them back, and implement a plan that will meet their goals. My goal is not to keep anyone in therapy for the rest of their lives, but rather to utilize therapy to overcome their challenges and achieve the inner peace they deserve.
As director of a rape crisis center and disaster-response counselor, I am experienced in a whole spectrum of traumas and how they impact people's lives and families. I view my position as both a privilege and an opportunity to create hope and results through EMDR and other effective modalities.
As the author of nine non-fiction books on family relationships, true crime and health, who spent many years in the media arena, I understand how the pressures of coping with a constantly shifting world can drive one to wonder if peace and harmony is even possible. The answer to this is "Yes!"
