You landed on my bio and would like to know why you should work with me as your therapist. Who am I? I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a dog-mom and a psychotherapist. I'm not unlike you; I'm just trying to do my best in all of these roles, as well as trying to find time and space for myself too. I love working with young adults and women. We are strong and wear many hats. Oftentimes, though, we struggle with not feeling enough, like we don't do enough, and there just isn't enough of us to go around. Self-care can sometimes feel selfish. We have a hard time balancing our needs and others.
I have 23 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, & families struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, & behavioral issues. My goal for therapy is to help you better understand yourself so you can feel more in control of your emotions and behavior.
I am IFS (Internal Family Systems) Level I trained. IFS training has been a very cool experience and I have found applying it has been very healing for my clients. It is all about leaning in to get to know, and eventually learn from and embrace, all of the parts of ourselves as humans. I've seen it be very healing and welcomes all parts of my clients.
