Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT, NCC
Adolescence can be a tumultuous time for teenagers, as well as for their families. While teenagers are striving for independence and control, we as adults know that the true capability to launch successfully into adulthood increases significantly with received wisdom and guidance from the elders of the tribe. This can be a difficult balance that can lead to turmoil. I am here to help adolescents be and feel supported by their families, while increasing effective dialogue and interactions between family members that will bring cohesion. I also work with teens and adults individually to help navigate this challenging time.
I work with individuals using an approach rooted in mindfulness based cognitive therapy to help build tools rooted in awareness and self-compassion to shift problem emotions and thoughts. I work with families using a structural family therapy approach to peace and stability by crafting intentional, goal oriented interactions and dialogue with one another.
I understand the inherent power and drive, as well as potential chaos, present in the lives of children and adolescents, as well as within families during this time of growth. I am currently making home visits for clients, and have availability after typical work hours. I travel to individuals and families in their own confidential, home-based settings.
