About
Dr Dena Felsen is a highly experienced licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her Bachelors and Masters degree from Columbia University and her doctorate from Yeshiva University. Dr. Felsen completed her pre and postdoctoral training at St. lukes Roosevelt Hopsital, Lenox Hill Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center. She has extensive specialty training in Womens health, Depression and Eating Disorders. She served as Director of a Day Treatment Program and worked extensively in the field of Eating Disorders. Dr. Felsen works closely with referring physicians and nutritionists to help individuals establish a proper level of care and treatment plan.
When treating patients Dr. Felsen combines her CBT and family systems training to help individuals identify what is triggering them to use their symptoms while encouraging them to develop more adaptive coping strategies in a very empathic and supportive environment. Dr. Felsen offers parenting work as well with many families struggling with conflict.
Dr. Felsen has a subspecialty in Couples therapy. She is an EFT- trained couples therapist and helps couples identify and break maladaptive cycles and improve connection, communication and intimacy. Dr. Felsen completed intensive couples training at the Ackerman Institute and a large portion of her practice currently serves couples.
