About
While I have experience working in a dual-diagnosis treatment center for those struggling with substance abuse, I also have experience working with clients living with the effects of trauma, OCD, mood disorders like anxiety and depression, self-harm and suicide ideation, and psychosis. In the counseling office I am supportive, non-judgmental and empathetic while maintaining a direct and solution-oriented approach to help you achieve your goals. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome all gender identities, sexualities, and presentations into my office.
The interventions I use as a therapist are tailored to the clients I see, in effort to aid my clients in reaching their individual goals and needs. From a trauma-informed perspective, I use various modalities to meet my client’s needs including; DBT, REBT, CBT, ACT, solutions-focused, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy.
Through my experiences of being on the client side of the desk, I’ve developed a passion for facing the stigma of mental illness head on. The stigma of mental illness as shameful or a failure is entirely false.
