“Everyone deserves a witness to their pain”. That is something I learned years ago and have tried to live by. I spent 6.5 years in the Navy which changed my life I am licensed in mental health and addictions, having worked in both outpatient and residential care for the past 14 years. My therapy style tends to be more eclectic rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I have found that utilizing a strengths-based, collaborative approach works well. I am familiar with DBT, CBT, and family systems.
In this section they want me to write about what I can offer. The truth is there is not a set answer since each person is an individual...what may work for one person may not work for another. I do tend to challenge people in their thinking (in a respectful way) and encourage homework in between sessions.
