Welcome! I've been in practice since 1990, specializing in helping people who've been victims of trauma (sexual, emotional or physical abuse, assault, harassment, as well as traumatic injuries, illnesses, accidents, disasters or climate distress). I also work with people having difficulties with life transitions (e.g., moving to college or a new city; divorce or bereavement; challenges in changing careers or finishing training programs). Helping people break self-defeating relationship patterns is another focus. See the Gallery flier for info on emotional coping/support workshops I run for work teams, scientists and activists.
In this time of political upheaval & climate crisis, Joanna Calabrese and I are pleased to offer our menu of emotional coping and support workshops.
I provide a safe environment where we can help you resolve distress or difficult behavior patterns you may be stuck in. Understanding the source of these patterns is one step, along with helping resolve any beliefs, fears or conflicts to allow you the freedom to make new choices. I served for many years as the co-Chair of the Victim Treatment Committee of the county psychological association, am on the Ethics Committee of that same group, served on the team of psychologists who evaluated victims in the LA Archdiocese priest abuse case, and am board-certified as a Fellow in Forensic Psychology for my expert witness work on trauma.
