I see my role in therapy as one who guides clients to use personal strengths to heal emotionally and live their lives to the fullest. We work together to identify faulty thoughts and behavior patterns that block psychological growth. I use individualized strategies grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients grow beyond the pain from trauma and loss toward a new normal. This therapy is also for those seeking direction on how to become "unstuck" from problems and find their path to self-actualization.
My focus is on trauma-related issues, specializing in recovery and empowerment from adverse child experiences, sexual violence and intimate partner abuse. I also work with clients whose lives are impacted by anxiety, depression and bipolar disorders, or are those seeking feedback on how to navigate through a major life transition.
Therapy is valuable in its ability to encourage, challenge and change. It is a give-and-take process where both client and therapist learn from each other. It is my responsibility to be a companion in the change process by partnering with you through a difficult transition and teaching skills to empower you to choose your own purpose for life.
