I see my role in therapy as one who serves as a guide for clients as they remove whatever blocks their path to personal growth and healing. We work to determine the sources of why actions intended to fix problems repeatedly fail the objective. Strategies taught during sessions teach people to create their own plan for change. Therapy is provided for those who have endured child and/or adult trauma, those who who are overwhelmed by loss, or those seeking direction as to how to optimistically manage problems and move forward on their own path to personal fulfillment.
My focus is Trauma and PTSD. I teach techniques grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to those who feel they cannot move beyond their grief, fear and anger. Therapy is also available for people with other mental health issues (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders) or for those seeking feedback as to how to navigate through a major life transition.
Therapy is valuable in its ability to encourage, challenge and change. It is a give-and-take process where both client and therapist learn from each other. It is my responsibility to be a companion in the change process- either partnering with you through a difficult transition, or teaching skills which empower you to determine your own purpose for life.
